As I'm unlikely to be about in a hundred years I won't worry to much about it.

There is nothing I can do to change it either it will happen or it won't, and as I won't be here there is no point in worrying, as for grand children I don't have any,and if I did worrying wouldn't help them, or anyone else for that matter.

To me it seems nonsense that a timescale prediction on extinction even exists. All we can really say is that, given that most species and genus become extinct eventually, so shall we. Science tells us that the sun will expand as it changes phase and absorb earth, killing all life on our planet. If the scientists are right in their prediction then we will, at that point, be extinct.

There is a fantasy that we will build spaceships and go off to another planet and, hence, survive extinction. That is, of course, absolute rubbish as the planet we live on does not have sufficient resources for even a minimum of the population to do that, so it is extremely unlikely that could ever happen.

So, in summary, yes we will become extinct, but not on an approved timescale.
